Self Indulgence

For my 25th birthday, (I warn people now, I do not want to hear the phrase 'quarter century)I've been thinking about gifting myself some 'silly self indulgent' photos.

Not the regular run of the mill, slap on some paint, point and shoot ones through. Lovely but boring.

I want something I could frame, and almost have people not know it was me. Artwork even, but not in the traditional Leo painting Kate kinda way.

Much to my joy, and then dismay, Vaig have a whole section of body art (some of which are not my cup of tea) but some are almost exactly what I want.

My dismay enters, where I swore off Vaig for being horrid rip off artists who conned my cousin into something she couldn't afford.
But pretty cool eh?

Guilt

Alright, I have been VERY quite as of late. Bad (BAD) blogger.
Not a lot has been going on to be quite honest, I've been working and that sort of thing, tiresome life getting in the way.

Two major new things;
1) I started Lite N Easy
2) I joined Curves

Well, firstly I knew I was unfit but this brings it into such harsh reality. I want to DIE doing tough cardio workouts, in fact I think I may do so one day. The resistance, and muscle toning isn’t too bad, far few less feelings of impending death.
I lack motivation to get there but once I am there I feel glad that I did.

Lite N Easy, has its advantages and draw backs. I’ve been eating it for three weeks now – STUPIDLY I neglected to weigh myself at home and instead got myself weighed at the gym so I don’t know what I have actually lost!
The breakfasts, lunches and snacks are fantastic. Love not having to spend time preparing something decent to eat.
I am however, over the dinners. The dinners are yummy (don’t get me wrong they do make some misses, avoid the Salmon Teriyaki!!) but by their own merits, they are not cooked fresh, and are generally covered in gravy, I assume to keep it moist when cooked.

In other news, I managed to snag some rather nifty tickets to a certain car racing event held annually in Bathurst... apprently Circuit Admission Paddock passes are cool?

Soup Update!

Well...

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday lagged along painfully without a hint of cheating (on wednesday I had four cashews BUT come on!)
Until Thurday night, when I went out for dinner & had grilled chicken salad at Sumo Salad - passable I thought.
I COULDN'T face soup for lunch today, so I decided to spread my chicken consumption over two meals, and had another chicken salad for lunch.
Although apprently I am not allowed salad today, but mixed salad leaves, tomato, carrot and cucumber isn't going to send me over the edge I don't think.

I think this diet works through crushing your will to live. I have lost nearly 2.5 kilos. Which is good, I guess but I was really hoping for some more bang for my buck.
The thought of starting hardcore again is OUT of the question but I really want to try and shift some more.

Life as a Soup Eatter

My health plan out the window, after too many free chocolate bars I decided drastic action was required.
So Monday I started the much famed and loathed Soup Diet.
On Sunday I readied myself, I chopped and cooked a vat of vegetables, prepared fresh fruit salad for the days I was allowed fruit and mentally resigned myself not to cheat.
Day One; Monday, was moral superiority, sunshine and goodness oozing from my pores as I consumed nothing but fresh fruit and the then delicious vegetable soup.
Day Two; Yesterday, was less great. I sucked it up and had soup for breakfast on the all vege day. Soup for breakfast, lunch and dinner to be precise. Steamed veggies for dinner were alright along with a YUMMY POTATO! Not happy, but I rewarded myself with a flat white and the thought I've lost 1.5kgs so far.
Day Three; Today. Got totally ahead of myself, I thought today was banana day and was looking forward to banana smoothy for breakfast but then got shot out of the water when I realised that is tomorrow. Fruit salad for breakfast, soup and salad for lunch and more bloody veggies and soup for dinner. Must remember my steely resolve.
Day Four; Tomorrow. I might be counting my chickens before they hatch but I feel positive about tommorow. It is banana smoothy day after all, and I think I can hack through! And with the thought of pritikin banana ice cream as a reward.
NB; ice cream may just be a banana mashed until creamy.
Day Five; Friday. Now I already know this is shot out of the water. So I am going to have the soup for breakfast, and morning tea because we are having a late (potentially boozy) farewell lunch at work.
Potential for extending the diet an extra day to compensate.
Day Six & Seven; The Weekend. Oh people please help me. What am I to do? Must be good, must be good. Pity I don't drive or I'd have perfect reason to be designated driver.

Queen of the Slouch

Mischa Barton has probably been emblazoned as Queen of many things by many a different magazine editor.

Queen of Rich Teen Angst by Girlfriend magazine,
Queen of the Sexy Lithe body by Ralph magazine,
Queen of Cellulite by Who/Any trash magazine

But none so prestigious a title as the one I have elected.

Mischa Barton is QUEEN OF THE SLOUCH
Look at that posture.... why? Why is she doing that?
Is it a by-product of going out with the grease factory Brendan Davies (or whatever his name was, you know who I mean) who was a foot short than her, so she was forced to slouch?

Oh my god... Nicole Kidman Syndrome?
I am beginning to see a pattern here...

THEN; shoulders rolled AND NOW: Still short bloke but upstanding

Look! THEN: AND With something called Cisco Adler

Life as a Bad starter

Kicking self in bottom, had packet of pizza shapes after lunch :(
Ignored apple merrily in favour of pizza shapes.
Perhaps a job where snack food and confectionery samples are lying around en masse should not be in correlation with a junk food junkie and a new food plan. *SIGH*
And thanks to Dataceptionist for words of encouragment and tips - definatly true and good to consider food consumption as a matter or perspective.

Also work related mini rant, Richmond trains are horse shit. I've caught the peak train for Parramatta four times now, and am really worried at how agro I got tonight.
FOUR Penrith trains and TWO Blue Mountains trains came in between the 26 minute window I was standing waiting.
Where is the synchronicity here? Four trains (not including the fact that the Mountains trains go to the Riff) going to one location every 6 and a half minutes is vulgar.
Perhaps only less vulgar than the sardine can masquerading as a train which arrived in place of the Richmond train.
I am drafting a sharply worded letter to John Aqualina (our local MP, who occasionally shows his face at the train station) or Michael Costa, because if they think cutting 400 CITY RAIL JOBS is the answer to aid the flailing and ailing rail infrastructure they have another thing coming.
Cutting off dead wood is one thing, cutting the plant off at the ground is another.

Salads, Excercise, Action!!

Oh bother.
Friday night was talking about weighty issues with my friend, and how an acquaintance who is quite pretty and a little bit heavy, weighs 100kg - which shocked me (and gave me an internal happy, yes horrible I know.)
*aside* This weekend has comprised entirely of cheese, biscuits, sweeties and alcohol - v.bad.
Of course I would be lying like a rug if part of my motivation wasn't to shed kilos but I have also become annoyingly aware of how unfit I have become *GR*
In attempt to reverse this, I have identified my main problems areas:
LACK OF MOTIVATION, not wanting to be unfit should be motivation itself.
LACK OF WILL POWER, delicious things are so irresistible - but it only takes 2 weeks to break yourself of a habit (apparently) and I have taken a healthy lunch to work despite the plethora of yummy food surrounding.

I don't want to count calories, I personally don't think it is a healthy outlook to have as this can lead to obsession. As such I have ruled out, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers because its all quite points/units obsessive.
I know what is healthy and what is not, I know when I am eating something bad for me and am not blinded by '99% fat free' promises and misleading advertising to convince people something is good when it isn't.
I've considered the notion of a morning only Tony Ferguson plan, because I am a bit crap at having a good breakfast and can manage a decent lunch and dinner.

MY HEALTH PLAN
(don't use the D word, because diets do not work, one needs to change whole outlook)
SO STARTING IMMEDIATELY; I AM DOING THE FOLLOWING -
Cutting out processed foods
No white bread
Limit chocolate intake
No fast food *potentially unrealistic
Minimising coffee/tea to ONE cup with only TWO sugars
Drink 2lts water

And the ever dreaded GYM route must be explored I suppose. I hate gyms, I think they are boring and I start to feel like a hamster running on an exercises wheel.
But there are two on my way home from work (a must becuase I won't go if I have to inconvenience myself) Curves and Fernwood. All depends on cost I suppose.

OH GOODNESS! HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!! thoughts?

The finally got to Nigella to say something dirty

Note; this might be the junction which I loose interest in the cute blog name, post titles. Nigella 'Queen of food porn' Lawson has finally been conned into saying something dirty on telly.
This is where I totally lost faith in youtube because I couldn't find the video!
Have you caught that Twining's tea ad, with Nigella in it? She slinks downstairs, all tousled hair and full lips in her dressing gown.
Then she drops the C word... concoction... I know not really BUT COME ON!
I once read a review in the paper by a guy who said he had watched several episodes before he realised the televison show was actually about food.

Life as a Fatty

I know I do it, I know my friends do it.
Do you ever look at a rather plump person, and think 'am I as fat as them?'
You have to trust the person you ask totally, (firstly to say NO because you always hope that's the answer) and secondly to artfully highlight your better features if the answer is yes, like;
'Not really, but your boobs are WAY better than hers' and similar. You know do I look like this;

this, or this?
